An often rare event happened when Avery Roberson, a 20-year-old country tennis player from Rutherfordton, North Carolina, took to the stage with an acoustic guitar in hand to sing a heartfelt song of Tim’s tributes. McGraw to the families of fallen soldiers, “If You are reading this. ”

According to Clarkson, one thing that makes Roberson stand out as a potential star is the fact that he’s not trying to stand out.
“You didn’t do what people expected to get people to get the four-seat first leg, which was lamenting everywhere and doing all that,” she said.
And when she invited him to pick Team Kelly, she pointed out that she also has a history with country music — a point that Shelton shot back, saying, “But then she let it go.”
“On the other hand, I grew up on country music and that’s all I ever did, country music,” the “God’s Country” hitmaker continued. “I just celebrated 10 years as a member of the Grand Ole Opry. … And my 10th year as a coach. ”
