AGT’ is an attractive program of T.V. by the emergence of many surprising talents from different age groups. The clip begins with 14-year-old Kelvin putting his hand on his parents’ shoulder backstage and saying: “Our lives will change forever!”
Terry Crews asked Kelvin if he was afraid of Simon, to which he replied, “I was nervous singing to Simon because I had to impress him.” parents wept tears of pride. Kelvin told a story to Simon about how he sang for a crowd at the age of 9, and in the middle of it all, he burped! The judges erupted. Simon goes on to ask Kelvin where he sees himself after 5 years. Kelvin told him he would still sing and perform, but he also wanted to be a dentist!
It’s like Kelvin is conveying to Whitney Houston when he sings with such soul. Relaxing out of tune, he wowed audiences from the start. He took the microphone off the stand and started walking around the stage, pointing and gesturing to add intensity to the lyrics.
Simon told Kelvin that there were 3,000 attendees and four judges, all of whom wished the moments that followed would change his life forever. A slow r&b track begins on the piano, and Kelvin begins with incredible poise and stage presence.
Kelvin impressed the crowd with Aretha Franklin’s famous first ‘Ain’t No Way’. It wasn’t easy to settle for a remarkable vocal performance from the Queen of Soul! However, Kelvin delivered an excellent, unremarkable version. Kelvin lifted Simon and the audience to his feet with his beautiful voice and inspiring smile!
