We’ve seen this trend continue into the current season, so let’s take a look back at some of the coolest examples from previous years. A few of these acts made it quite far in the competition and have since left a lasting impression.
Freelusion Dance Company: This creative dance team made it to the Semifinals in Season 10 with their epic video recording performance. What makes it all the more interesting is that they tell the same story continuously from week to week.
Syrup-A: This Japanese dance group made it to the Season 10 Semi-Finals with their show. It is difficult to know where technology ends and where dancers begin. On Judge Cuts, guest judge Piers Morgan was so impressed by the performance that he won the Golden Buzzer.
The sky is full of freckles:The dance duo made it to the Quarterfinals of Season 10, after judge Howard Stern won the Golden Buzzer for their audition. The performance combines elements of projection, dance and water.
Sila Sveta:This dance duo made it to the Quarterfinals of Season 11 with their exciting video shoot. Their audition tells the story of Sleeping Beauty with stunning shots as the dancers move against the walls and floor.
Dancing UDI:This blacklight dance group from Siberia made it to the Quarterfinals of Season 13. During their audition, the dancers’ hands became birds and leaves on a tree. They then entered Britain’s Got Talent, where they won 10th place.
Front image: This projection is like virtual reality on a grand scale. Dancer Konstantin Tomilchenko appeared on stage in the midst of what could be movie scenes or video game levels. The action reached the Semi-Finals of Season 13 as a wildcard, and ended the competition with an epic outer space scene.
Light balance: What could be better than a group of dancers dressed in light costumes? This dramatic act landed third place in Season 12 of AGT, after receiving a Golden Buzzer from host Tyra Banks. They were back with AGT: Champions earlier this year, and this new season, Light Balance Kids is making headlines.
Green Tour:This choreography duo made the Top 12 in Season 9 of AGT with their surreal performance. Their performance featured dancers interacting with shadows and images as they performed. Judge Mel B called it dreamlike grace and beauty.”
