1. Alanso Jones (Turf)
On America’s Got Talent, a sweet young man named Alanso who goes by the name “Turf” came to the stage and answered many questions about his passion and his life. He explained that he has been homeless for around two years and that to survive he dances for donations on the street.
“I graduated from school and said I’m dancing, and my mom kicked me out of the house,”Alanso said.
“Why?” the interviewer asked him.“I don’t know… I haven’t spoken to her since. Hi mom… (he sweetly smiles and waves)”
“I was homeless on the streets for about two years. Everyday I was just street performing… It was just like, do I want to go and get a hotel room or do I want to just dance and practice ’till the sun comes up… and believe it or not, I would actually dance all night…”

2. Mike Yung of “America’s Got Talent”
Contestant Mike Yung is an active singer on America’s Got Talent season 12. He was eliminated in the Semifinals. Mike returns to AGT: Champion 2, where he was eliminated in the Qualifiers. Yung has been singing in the subway for 37 years.
Yung released the single “Alright” in 2018, along with a lyrics video. Yung announced a Kickstarter fundraiser for the album, where he has raised $90,000, enough for an EP, since October 2018.
On July 28, 2018, Yung began his Never Give Up tour.
He released a song called “Dreamer” with Martin Garrix. His estimated net worth is around $ 1-5 million now!

Just before his performance, he explained: ‘My current status at the moment is I am homeless. I’ve been homeless for about six years, on and off. Two nights out of every fortnight like I’ll stay somewhere like a friend’s house or something, but the rest of the time I’m kicking about on the street. I sleep in doorways, alleyways just trying to keep dry.
He was put into care at the age of 13 as his single mother struggled to cope, the 26-year-old musician admitted he felt like ‘a burden’ on every foster family he became a part of.
Before taking to the stage, he told the judges: ‘I have always sung, I don’t think there is anything else in my life that I do with such passion. This competition is obviously a big thing, it could add the element of security, it could change my life, definitely.’
4. Homeless Singer Hollywood Anderson Makes Jennifer Lopez Cry On American Idol
Long time street performer impressed the judges on American Idol and made JLo cry. He has been homeless for many years but after his auditions, he even got invited to The Ellen DeGeneres Show and He has appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
The original Hollywood song called “My Best Friend” is about a girl he fell in love with in college. He started getting into tunes with his incredible vocals and guitar playing. Jennifer was impressive throughout the entire performance and she even looked like she was about to burst into tears.
He released several singles, EPs, albums and is touring the world!
5. Dennis Lorenzo from “American Idol”
Dennis Lorenzo is a Philadelphia musician who was homeless for several years and reached the American Idol Top 10 in Season 18.
In 2017, he released a five-track EP containing his single “Fly or Die” which brought him both success and recognition.
He has been featured in several media outlets for his music, including Yahoo News, ABC, and People Magazine.
