After being arrested last year for her social media activities, the ten-year sentence was handed down just days ago, her lawyer said. She pays a heavy price for harmlessly altering photos. The verdict comes with many different opinions and people are hoping to change its fate.
Sahar Tabar, real name Fatemeh Khishvand, is the 19-year-old girl behind the infamous Instagram account. An account that no longer exists after being deleted following his arrest in October 2019. His Instagram fame started growing in 2017 after posting photos showing off his unique appearance. In the photos, her facial features make her appear like an “Angelina Jolie zombie”. It was rumored that this was her true appearance, which was achieved through 50 cosmetic surgeries. She later admitted that she had surgery like nose jobs and lip fillers, and that her signature look was mostly makeup and Photoshop.
Tabar has been accused of bribing young people and disrespecting the Islamic Republic. The order to detain Tabar was issued by the Tehran Orientation Court, which deals with cases of cultural crimes and social and moral corruption. His harmless actions on social media are considered serious crimes by the Iranian government.
Even after contracting Covid-19 in April, a judge ruled against granting bail. Despite the impact of the virus in the country’s prisons, she showed no sympathy. Before the latest development, it was previously said that Tabar could only cope between 3 months and 2 years.

Tabar dreamed of being famous since he was a child. Instagram posts were an effort to build her fame. The decision on the sentence of the young woman is an Iranian journalist, Masih Alinejad feels too harsh. She made the case known after receiving news of Tabar’s lawyer conviction.
