The Ukrainian defence ministry tweeted: “We welcome Boris Johnson in Kyiv, the first G7 leader to arrive in Ukraine since the beginning of the large-scale war. We are strengthening our union of democracies. Be brave, like Boris. Be brave, like Ukraine.”
Boris Johnson was filmed traveling by train from Poland to Kyiv on Saturday. He says the British people ‘stand in sympathy and in solidarity’ with the Ukrainians.

Boris Johnson’s visit comes a day after at least 50 people were killed in an attack on civilians at Kramatorsk rail station in eastern Ukraine, described by Volodymyr Zelenskyy as a war crime.
