The Los Angeles Fire Department said the man was the only person on the plane. He was taken to hospital, but the agency did not disclose the extent of his injuries.
According to KTLA news, Christopher Aboyte was one of the police officers who helped save the pilot’s life. When they arrived, he began chatting with the pilot to try and help him stay sober.

The pilot’s wife told KTLA by phone that she was grateful to the police officers who saved her husband’s life.
