On Sunday night’s episode, the aspiring country music singer opened up to guest American Idol mentor Carrie Underwood about getting nervous performing in front of an audience.
But when the Kentucky native took the stage to compete for a spot in the top three, many didn’t see a trace of jitters coming from him. Instead, Noah blew everyone away with his renditions of Carrie’s “So Small” and Larry Fleet’s “Working Man.”
In the end, American Idol judges Lionel Richie, Katy Perry and Luke Bryan gave him a standing ovation. Unsurprisingly, fans followed suit with their votes, which landed Noah in the American Idol season 5 (overall 20th season) finale. After an emotional reveal courtesy of American Idol host Ryan Seacrest, Noah expressed his gratitude with his supporters on Instagram.
