Exciting moment South African lions play “tug of war” with tourists’ cars

Tourists participating in a hunting tour in South Africa suddenly discovered a lion “pulling” with their SUV sports car. The tour guide accompanying the group said that he had never witnessed such a strange sight since entering the profession.

According to a report in the New York Post, tour guide Jabulani Salinda (49 years old) led a group of tourists to the Baobab Ridge area of Kruger National Park on November 18 because a colleague told him that he had a baby. The lion appears here. As they were about to get a little closer, their SUV slid into the mud and had to be pulled up with a rope. But after their car got out of the mud and before they could get the rope back, a lion grabbed the other end of the rope.

Mr Jabulani said: ‘The rope caught the lion’s attention before I could pull it back. It paced back and forth and grabbed the other end of the rope.” Although their car was moving slowly forward, the lion still gripped the rope tightly, creating a tug-of-war scene. Jabulani said: “It was. just like a big cat playing with a toy.”

Although there were tourists worried that the lion would approach their car because it was amused by the rope, he reassured them that it wasn’t angry but was just playing with its new toy. Tell them to just enjoy the moment.

According to Jabulani, after a herd of lionesses passed by, the lioness let go of the rope, ended the tug and went with them.

This is the first time that wildlife expert Jabulani has witnessed such a scene of lions “pulling”. “I’ve been a tour guide for 19 years, I never knew lions could be so naughty before.”
