After a rich children’s modeling career, young Sofia Fanta opened a new page in her biography – vocals. The singer has already won a number of regional competitions, but her first serious challenge was her participation in the 8th season of the Channel One music show “Voice. Children”.
Fanta is the girl’s real surname. Sofia was ashamed of her for a long time before realizing that in fact she was lucky with a unique surname: she is found among Ukrainians by nationality and comes from the male names Fantey (Fantin) or Nifont, formed from folk forms without special design.
Sofia’s parents are divorced, and her daughter is raised by her mother Vasilina Reshetnyak, who runs the Moscow restaurant “Andiamo”. The singer has an older sister, Polina Minyaeva (born May 14, 2000) and four cousins.
Sophia started walking and talking at the age of 9 months, at the age of 3 she knew the letters, at the age of 5 she began to read. At the age of 4, Sofia was noticed by Lara Kukhar, director of the PK Management agency, and this was the beginning of the girl’s career in the modeling field. The peak of demand was at the age of 5–6 years, filming took place every day, we had to observe the strictest schedule.
In 2011, Fanta starred for the Puledro clothing catalog and even worked for a week in the Turkish capital Istanbul. In the same year, Sofia first appeared on the covers of calendars, in photos in glossy magazines and got the first experience of filming video advertising. True, only one moment was included in the video, where the girl’s hands take a jar of jam.
At the age of 5, Fanta was included in the short list of “The most beautiful children in the world” according to the GoFunnyKids portal. In 2012, the model first appeared on the catwalk, taking part in the shows of Milan Fashion Week in Italy and the “Defile on the Neva”. In addition to photo shoots for clothing catalogs and magazines, Sofia took part in gymnastics video lessons for children, and also got her first shooting experience for the Matter of Honor TV series.
She also worked in voice acting with cartoons, advertising and social videos. Activity in the modeling business continued until the middle of the first grade, but then many proposals had to be abandoned in favor of studying.
Fanta began to sing when she was 10 months old: when Vitas’ song “Opera # 2” sounded on the radio, the girl sang the melody exactly according to the notes. At the age of 6, Sofia entered the Song Theater at the Ramensk Center for Creativity for Children and Youth, where the teacher Nadezhda Ignatieva saw in her the makings of a vocalist.
At the age of 7, Sofia wrote her first “Song about a mole”, but while the arrangement was being made for her, the girl had already grown up, and the composition was never recorded. The young singer won the first Grand Prix prize of the music competition at the age of 8. Sofia admitted that she was very worried before going on stage, but performing for her was happiness.
In 2017, with the song “Little Blues”, Fanta won 1st place at the festival “7 Notes of the Moscow Region”, and in April 2018, Sofia performed for the first time with the live orchestra “Phonograph” at an evening in memory of Andrei Voznesensky.
In November, with the song “Voice” by Yulia Proskuryakova, Fanta won first place at the fifth vocal competition “Voice’OK”, where Irina Sargina was the singer’s mentor. In 2016, Sofia was already a member of this project, where she played in the team of Polina Rostova. The main prize was a three-week trip to the Artek camp, where, according to Sofia, she spent one of the most important days of her life. Also in 2018, Fanta became the winner of the 3rd Jazzart festival, where she sang “The Prayer of the Old Monk”.
Since 2019, Fanta has also started taking part in musicals. The singer got to the casting of “Scarlet Sails” by accident, but Assol was selected for the main role. According to Sofia, this is a favorite role that she lives on stage every time. The musical features the music of Maxim Dunaevsky, and the partners of the young actress were such performers as Sergei Li, Alexander Kazmin and Georgy Koldun.
Fanta performed the title role in Evgeny Krylatov’s musical “Little Red Riding Hood & the Gray Wolf” by the “Musical Heart of the Theater” troupe, and since 2020 has also played in the production of the Gorky Moscow Art Theater “War through the Eyes of Children.”
From the moment Sofia began to sing, her dream was to participate in the TV show “Voice. Children”. In 2020, after two unsuccessful attempts, the singer passed the casting and was already waiting in a special room, from where the participants were called for a blind audition. But the places in the teams ended exactly 1 participant before Fanta. Sofia was preparing for the new casting with the teacher Inga Khitarova and sang the song “Tell, Birds”.
