Alexander sings the song ‘Leaving On A Jet Plane’ by John Denver at The Blind Auditions of The Voice Kids.

This fourteen-year-old musician has been playing the guitar for a while now and loves to combine it with singing. In The Voice Kids we see how he gives Leaving On A Jet Plane by John Denver a new look in the hope of convincing the coaches of The Voice Kids.

Alexander de Groen from Wassenaar is participating in The Voice Kids. This fourteen-year-old young man from Wassenaar could not resist registering when he saw a call for the talent show. “I really enjoy participating, because I used to always watch other kids do this too. I just thought it would be really cool to do this.”

Armed with his guitar, he went on stage. “Because I think a guitar is a really nice instrument. I’ve been playing it for two years now and I often hear it in music that I like. I like Country/Rock. I also really like the Eagles. In the past, when we were in the car, my parents would listen.” With his performance of Leaving On A Jet Plane by John Denver, Alexander convinced three coaches: Douwe Bob, Ilse de Lange and Ali B. Afterwards he saw a dream come true when he was allowed to sing Hotel California together with the four coaches. Eventually Alexander ended up in Team Douwe Bob.
