The 18-year-old did such an impressive audition that he won the Golden Bell. Not only did he perform Sheeran’s song, but he also shared a great performance of another song in his native language.
Safa shared that he went to Portugal for a vacation, but he and his family had to stay due to the COVID-19 pandemic. He was born in Iran but later moved to China, where he is studying medicine. Safa said he loves Portugal, but asked the referees if he could speak to them in English.
The singer continued to perform Ed Sheeran’s “Perfect” while strumming her guitar. Safa certainly delivered Sheeran’s vocals for a performance that made the audience sway to the song.
After the performance, the judges asked Safa to sing another song for them, this time in his native language. As judge Sofia Escobar explained, “Any excuse is good to listen to you a little more.”
