It was a shock to many that American Idol contestant and stellar performer Tristen Gressett failed to make the top 14 of the show’s competitors. Gressett and the others who didn’t vote to continue, must then fight for their last chance to stay in the game. Gressett then performed one final act in an attempt to convince the judges to let them continue in the competition.
Gressett, 17, began her frugal performance with a performance of “Are You Gonna Go My Way” by Grammy-winning rock artist Lenny Kravitz. The male singer brought out his guitar and fought hard with his soulful voice. Gressett growls through the lyrics, “I’m not leaving until I’m done.”
True to the singer’s superb performing skills, Gressett bounced across the stage, delivering the famous rock ‘n’ roll “hero pose”. The entire audience waved in the air and shouted as if they were at Gressett’s own concert rather than a competition show.Impressed by Gressett’s audacity, judge Katy Perry shouted, “Is that what they call a high-profile message?”
