The director of the film, James Cameron, was against the inclusion of the ballad in the soundtrack, Celine Dion, who was offered to perform the track, also refused to record. However, the song and film became incredibly popular.
In 1997, Dion included the song on the album Let’s Talk About Love, it became her calling card. The composition received Oscar, Golden Globe, four Grammy awards.
