OPA! Bambas causes chaos with a SMASHING performance | Unforgettable Audition | Britain’s Got Talent

Britain’s Got Talent: How appearing on Simon Cowell’s hit ITV show could change this Cheltenham ice-cream man’s life for ever

Greek Cypriot Bambas Shaouna, who smashed plates, played music and danced on the ITV show, talks about his experience with Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, David Walliams and Ant and Dec

The Cheltenham musician who delighted Simon Cowell and the other Britain’s Got Talent judges has said his lively TV appearance could change his life. Bambas Shaouna, a Greek Cypriot who has lived in Cheltenham all his life and runs an ice-cream van business in the town, appeared on the ITV show last weekend.

He caused mayhem on stage at the London Palladium by smashing plates, playing his traditional Greek bouzouki behind his head, singing, dancing and balancing glasses on his head. It led to him getting a yes from Mr Cowell, David Walliams, Alesha Dixon and Amanda Holden, with the hugely impressed judges even joining in with the plate-smashing. And while Bambas does not yet know whether he will make it through to the event’s semi-finals, he says that his few minutes of fame may already have changed his life.

Chaos breaks out on stage as the Judges join Bambas with his traditional Greek celebration!

The 65-year-old, who lives with his wife Susan and sons George and Christos in Uckington, said he was likely to have the chance to tour the country this year with his entertaining act.
There had been a huge amount of interest in it, he said, since the programme was shown last Saturday evening.

He said: “There has been so much positivity. I’ve started to get a lot of wedding bookings. People want something to break it up, something different.”He said he could become so busy with his act that he might have to step away from his ice-cream business.
